About Knole's oral history archive

Kay Stratford, aged 103, visited Knole's Conservation Studio in 2018. Kay's mother was one of 9 cooks in the Knole kitchen around 1900. By sharing her memories, Kay helped enrich Knole's archive, particularly of a period of great change in the social history of a country house.
